Hanaliza Kamis, Sheela a/p Karunaharan Thanaraj, and Dr Jasmine Phan Ah Kiaw, lecturers from the School of Business of UOW Malaysia secured a Bronze Medal at the International University Carnival on E-Learning (IUCEL) 2024 and the kNovasi Congress and Innovation Competition (kNovasi) in Teaching and Learning 2024.

The IUCEL 2024 and kNovasi Competition attracted submissions from hundreds of national and international educators and researchers to showcase cutting-edge teaching and learning pedagogies. Organised by the Centre for Teaching and Curriculum Development of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, this annual event was launched with a keynote address by YBhg. Professor Dr Azlinda binti Azman, Director General of Higher Education, Ministry of Higher Education.

The competition celebrates innovation in higher education, and the success of the UOW Malaysia team highlights their dedication to pushing the boundaries of classroom bound education and enhancing student engagement through creative methodologies. Their innovative submission, Exploring Career Realities: A Job Shadowing Initiative, demonstrated a fresh approach to experiential learning by integrating a job shadowing program as part of a class assignment. This initiative allowed their students to gain hands-on experience and deeper insights into their future careers, transforming the traditional classroom environment into a more dynamic and impactful learning space.

By participating in the job shadowing program, students were able to gain understanding of the workplace, giving them the opportunity to observe and interact with professionals while bridging the gap between theory and practice. This approach provided them with valuable perspectives on how their academic studies translate into real-world practices, enriching their overall educational experience.

Well done to the team for this well-deserved recognition!
